Kim is the primary preaching elder at Lighthouse Community Church in Torrance, California. His ministry is driven by a deep desire to encourage people with the transformative power of the Gospel, the Good News that offers not only entrance into heaven but powerful and practical hope for change in everyday life.
Joe (DMin, Westminster Theological Seminary) has served in Christian ministry and leadership development for more than 25 years. He currently serves as the executive pastor at Grace Baptist Church in Santa Clarita, California, and is a council member of the Biblical Counseling Coalition. He is married to Heidi and they have four children.
Pete began attending Salem Heights Church in 1999 while completing his ministry degree from Western Baptist College (now Corban University). After 14 years in Christian education, Pete joined the team at Salem Heights in 2015. He has ministered in a variety of roles at the church and currently serves as a teaching pastor and the Pastor of Biblical Counseling. Pete and his wife, Holly, were married at Salem Heights in 2001 and have three children: Jamin, Jase, and Kyla.
Beth is the Director of Counseling at New Heights Church in Vancouver, Washington. She has a doctorate in psychology and practiced from a traditional psychological perspective for 10 years before shifting to a gospel-centered counseling approach. In addition to leading New Heights Counseling, Beth is a trainer for ABC and has written several articles for The Gospel Coalition. She is married and has three children.
Emily is the Director of Biblical Counseling Training at Salem Heights Church in Salem, Oregon, and serves as the Certification and Training Director for the Association of Biblical Counselors. She holds a Master’s in Pastoral Counseling from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary and an Advanced Certification through ABC. Emily is passionate about equipping others to counsel and care well in the local church and regularly trains leaders in biblical counseling. She and her husband, Ryan, have been married since 1998 and enjoy hanging out with their adult children, Brynn and Blake.
Aaron & Angi have been married for 30 years and are blessed with two sons, one daughter, a daughter-in-law, a son-in-law, a granddaughter, and another grandchild on the way. As biblical counselors at Salem Heights Church for over fifteen years, they consider it a great privilege to counsel individuals and couples, pointing them to the hope found in Christ. In their free time, they enjoy spending time with their family and being outdoors.
Doug is a retired pastor of 46 years and has had certifications in communication instruction, coaching, and Christian conciliation. He has taught communication and conflict resolution principles and skills in the church for over thirty years. He and his wife Lisa have been married for 48 years and live in Donald, Oregon.
Kristin is a biblical counselor based in Portland, OR, where she counsels full-time and mentors aspiring counselors through internships and consulting. Before settling in Portland, Kristin earned a Master’s degree in Theological Studies from Westminster Seminary California and trained with the Christian Counseling and Education Foundation (CCEF). She finds deep fulfillment in nurturing new counselors’ wisdom and skill, equipping them to guide others with compassion and grace anchored in biblical truth. In her spare time, Kristin enjoys spending time with her husband Larry, and their playful Corgi, Maggilou. She also delights in nurturing relationships with her grown stepchildren, experimenting in the kitchen, and enjoying the beauty of the world around her.
Tim serves as an Associate Pastor in the counseling ministry at Lighthouse Community Church. He enjoys brewing quality coffee and pouring lattes for friends, backpacking, running, and enjoying his wife Jee’s cooking. He has come to love Lighthouse’s prayerfulness over the future and the brothers within the church who are always ready to offer exhortation and encouragement.
Shauna is the Executive Director for The Association of Biblical Counselors and co-host on the podcast Speak the Truth. Shauna founded Truth Renewed, a ministry that helps the church develop a culture of biblical care and provides free biblical counseling to the community. She is also a council member for the Biblical Counseling Coalition, general editor for the Counsel through Scripture books, and graduate from Southern Seminary with a Masters in Christian Leadership. Shauna and her husband Michael have two sons, Jaxson and Dustin, and a daughter-in-love Brea who has recently blessed the family with their first grandbaby Naomi.
